Recipients of the TRH Flying Foundation scholarship are expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and steady progress toward their aviation goals. Scholars should begin or continue flight training within a reasonable timeframe following award notification and remain actively engaged in their training. While timelines will naturally vary based on individual circumstances such as weather, aircraft availability, and training pace, recipients are encouraged to work toward progressing through their next appropriate milestones, including instrument, commercial, and instructor ratings where applicable. Scholarship funds must be used exclusively for approved aviation training expenses, and recipients are expected to maintain organized training records, provide periodic progress updates when requested, and uphold a high standard of professionalism within their flight training environment and the broader aviation community.
-
Need to be current (licensed, medical, 3 landings within the last 90 days, flight review every two years).
Send receipts and invoice board member to receive reimbursement check (if transactional process is done through flight instructor).
Cancel lessons within 12 hrs of scheduled flight.
Keep accurate training notes and logs to submit to our board.
-
Scholarship funds are typically disbursed in full; however, the TRH Flying Foundation reserves the right to review funding status if a recipient is no longer actively engaged in flight training, if their training plan materially changes, or if funds are not being used as intended. In such cases, funding may be paused or adjusted to ensure responsible use of scholarship resources. Recipients whose scholarships are paused or discontinued are encouraged to reapply in future cycles when they are actively pursuing their training goals.
